On April 20, as I was driving through a state parking lot, a woman pulling forward out of her parking space ran into the side of my car. We’d both been going slowly enough that when I turned off the engine, my car was still directly in front of hers. (I’d seen her coming and thought surely she would stop, but she didn’t.) I got out and so did she.
“I didn’t see you,” she said, obviously flustered. “You came out of nowhere. You must have been going very fast.”
